Val Thorens is famous for being a ski hard, party hard resort. Few resorts can rival Val Thorens for diversity, being both great for beginners as well as intermediates and experts. Upgrading your lift pass to the extensive Three Valleys will give you access to limitless off piste, open powder filled bowls, massive cliff drops, tight chutes, challenging tree skiing/snowboarding and endless groomed trails. Val Thorens is the highest resort in the Alps, meaning the snow cover is extremely reliable all season.
Val Thorens boasts outstanding après ski bars; with the Folie Douce and Bar 360° which both opened in 2009. The main nightlife attraction has to be the famous Malaysia nightclub (the largest nightclub in the Alps) which plays a variety of live music most evenings. Other bars such as Saloon, Gringos, Summit, and Baramix expand the wide choice of great drinking holes in resort. The extensive choice of bars, and clubs, is what gives Val Thorens its reputation of the party town!
