Avoriaz is perched on a cliff 600 meters above the famous town of Morzine. Intermediates and above will love the vast Portes du Soleil lift pass upgrade which gives access to approximately 650km of piste. Avoriaz is slightly more chilled out and perfect for a low budget holiday.
The village has no roads meaning all accommodation is ski in ski out. The more popular form of transport is by horse and carriage! Avoriaz is a great area for skiers and snowboarders proving very popular with park riders and off piste lovers. Avoriaz has several snow parks including the famous Burton Stash Park. It is also part of the Portes du Soleil ski area; the largest ski area in the world!
Although the nightlife in Avoriaz can be slightly limited, it still has a lot going for it. The main bars include The Place, Wild Horse Saloon and Shooters and a club called Le Yak. They all are a stone’s throw of each other with great vibes. The village is also full of quaint French restaurants which are ideal for trying out the best Alpine dishes.
